In November, 2007, the 22nd Annual Wine Country Marine Corps Birthday Ball, hosted by the Wine Country Marines, was held in Sonoma, CA. Located north of the Golden Gate, the Wine Country Marines is a patriotic organization of Marines and friends of the Corps dedicated to perpetuating both the ethos and Espirit de Corps of the U.S. Marine Corps. It is also a charitable organization that raises money to help support several Marine Corps related worthy causes. This year, Marines and veterans from the Northern California area were invited to attend the celebration of the Marine Corps’ 232nd birthday. Major General J. Michael Myatt, USMC (Ret) served as the evening’s Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker.

On February 22, 2008, the Wine Country Marines presented a $15,000 check to the IMSFF in front of a Marine Corps Color Guard and several recuperating wounded Marines and their families at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System facility in Palo Alto. IMSFF thanks the Wine Country Marines for their generosity and support! For more information on the Wine Country Marines organization, please visit them at www.winecountrymarines.com.
