iBN Sports Partners with Sturgis Bike Week for Message to the Troops
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sturgis, SD (July 25, 2008) - In the midst of what will prove to be another fun-filled week at Sturgis, promoters Glencoe Nation
www.glencoecamp.com and
www.iBNsports.com have teamed up to put a spotlight on thanking the troops via taped video messages that will be broadcast over the iBN Sports Internet network. The “Message to the Troops” event will be located in the world-renowned Thunderdome on the campgrounds of Glencoe Nation. From August 5th – 8th, 2008. The central focus will be the opportunity for the Sturgis participants to record Live their personal messages to the troops during the event August 5th – 7th from 12pm – 6pm daily.
“This is our inaugural ‘Message to the Troops’ and we have already seen a tremendous response and excitement being generated for this idea. The freedom to enjoy the many privileges offered by this great country could not be more evident than here during the week of Sturgis,” said Michael Conley, EVP of iBN Sports. “You see people from all walks of life, coming together for the week and sharing laughter and building great memories. The Sturgis fan loves America, the freedom we all enjoy and the many opportunities she offers, and is eager to express this appreciation. We know however, that freedom comes at a price through the leading edge of our brave men and women who serve in the Armed Forces,” continued Conley. “That is why we feel honored to offer this opportunity for people to send their heart-felt messages to our soldiers, anywhere around the world. We will provide the film crews and the interview stations to broadcast their messages over our iBN Sports network. For three days, fans can record their personal messages to family, friends, or even a general message to all the troops and know that soldiers can log-on at
www.iBNsports.com and be able to see and hear their words of appreciation and encouragement,” said Conley. “Our CEO, Alfred Pizzurro served as a pilot in the Marine Corp. During his service, he worked closely with the legendary Bob Hope in raising support for the family members of the Marines that died in Beirut, Lebanon. I guess it’s fair to say that the culture of our leadership to be involved in this capacity is part of our DNA,” concluded Conley.
“This truly is a meaningful and exciting event,” said Gary Lippold, Founder of Glencoe Nation. “2008 will mark the first year that we have partnered with iBN Sports and I am pleased to say that this partnership has already spawned some new and innovative attractions as we continue to add to make Sturgis Bike Week a memorable one for our fans,” Lippold continued. “The ‘Message to the Troops’ however, is something our fans get to do for the troops. I have found that our fans are extremely generous and patriotic people. This event is such a natural fit and one I am certain will be a highlight of the overall Sturgis experience. What’s more, when the soldiers log-on to the site, they will be able to enjoy seeing many of the other events here at Sturgis for free,” said Lippold.
