Established in May 2004, the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has provided over 18,300 grants totaling over $37 million in assistance to our Nation's OEF/OIF wounded heroes and families. Since our inception, our fundraising and administrative costs have only averaged 7%, which means that 93% of our expenditures go directly to the programs that support the needs of our service members and their families. Our fundraising expenses have averaged just 2 cents per dollar raised. This assistance helps with immediate financial needs and perpetuating needs, such as modified transportation, home modifications, and specialized equipment.
Since 1775 our Marines have been there for us; now it’s our turn to be there for them. Join us in “Serving Those Who Preserve Our Freedom.”

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the Western State Endurance Run has been cancelled this year due to multiple wildfires burning very near the trail and for the poor air quality in the Sacramento Valley area. For additional details please visit www.ws100.com. There is some consolation in the fact that LtCol Michael Huff has been offered automatic entry into next year’s race and is already planning on participating.
LtCol Huff surpassed his fundraising goal of $5000.00, and to-date has raised over $6500.00 for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. Undeterred by the cancellation of the Western States, LtCol Huff has changed his goal race to the Grindstone 100 Mile Endurance Run in October. Please see the upcoming event for more information.
On June 28th, 2008 LtCol Michael Huff will “toe the line” for the Western States Endurance Run 100 Miler. The race is a 100 mile long ultramarathon that takes place on trails in California's Sierra Nevada annually on the last weekend of June. The trail ascends from the Squaw Valley floor (elev. 6,200 feet) to Emigrant Pass (elev. 8,750 feet), a climb of 2,550 feet in the first 4.5 miles. Runners then travel west, climbing another 15,540 feet and descending 22,970 feet before reaching Auburn. Runners finishing before the 30 hour overall time limit for the race receive a bronze belt buckle, while runners finishing in less than 24 hours receive a silver belt buckle. The Western States Endurance Run is one of the premier ultrarunning events in the world.
LtCol Huff is planning to donate 100% of the funds raised to the Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund. He will be running an additional 9 Ultramarathons on his path to The Western States Endurance Run. To follow LtCol Huff's progress please visit his fundraising page at www.active.com.

The 24-Hour Adventure Trail Run will be held within the Prince William Forest Park, located just outside historic Triangle, VA and Marine Corps Base, Quantico. Found 35 miles south of Washington D.C., this run offers a great opportunity to visit the Nations' Capital and explore 15,000+ acres of Virginia's National Park wilderness. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund (IMSFF).
The idea for the 24-Hour ATR came from the trail on which it is held. The goal is to promote the growth of trail running and endurance trail running. Athletic Equation works to contribute and give back to the local community & the National Parks Service. 2006 saw the inaugural event go off without a hitch. In addition to running, the event contributed and facilitated over $5000 in donations. 2008 will see one minor change to the successful event. This year the course will be run in the REVERSE direction. The mileage will be the same; the elevation gain/loss with be the same; the direction will vary! Runners can compete in Solo or Team categories.
Visit the event website at: www.athletic-equation.com.

Fifteen Marines attended the QOV presentation at the Pasta Dinner prior to running the Cooper River Bridge Run. Four of the 15 Marines had not previously received a quilt, so it was a joy watching these young men select their quilts. The remaining 24 quilts went to Camp Lejuene.
This brings the total of quilts made and shipped to 646! Thank you for all your hard work!
